Covered California Holds Rate Increases
With the unveiling of the 2016 carrier rates, Covered California has announced a premium increase of just 4% on average. That is lower than the average increase of 4.2% last year. Most consumers will see an increase of <5% in their 2016 rates. Several carriers are taking rate DECREASES on the very popular Silver plans.
Also, since Covered California requires health insurance carriers to offer the same products at the same prices both inside and outside Covered California’s marketplace, all individuals seeking to buy health insurance benefit from these rates.
