California Auto Insurance

Required Coverage

Liability Insurance is required for every driver in California, and certain minimum coverages limits apply. Liability Insurance pays for bodily injury and property damages that you are legally liable for.

Optional Coverage

Collision Coverage. While Liability will pay for the damages to the other driver’s vehicle, the driver who is responsible for an accident will also be responsible for their own repairs. Collision Insurance will pay for these damages, subject to your deductible.

Comprehensive Coverage.
In situations where other factors cause damage to your car, such as theft, fire, vandalism and glass breakage, Comprehensive Insurance will cover these damages, subject to your deductible.

Medical Payments Coverage. Covers the medical costs (up to the specified limit) resulting from an auto accident for you, your family, or others in your car. This coverage pays regardless of fault.

Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Coverage. Provides coverage for a policyholder involved in a collision with a driver who does not have liability insurance or who does not have sufficient liability limits to pay for damages, subject to policy limits. Uninsured Motorist comes in two parts: uninsured motorist bodily injury (UMBI) and uninsured motorist property damage (UMPD). UMBI coverage pays for injuries to you or any person in your car when there is a collision with an uninsured/underinsured driver. UMPD coverage pays for the property damage to your car when there is a collision with an identified uninsured driver.

Rental Reimbursement Coverage. This coverage pays your expenses to rent an auto if you have a loss covered under Comprehensive or Collision benefits. Coverage is sold based on a daily amount of expense subject to a maximum limit.

Towing & Labor Coverage. Addition to an automobile policy that pays a specified amount for towing and related labor costs.

Additional Homeowner’s Insurance for Unique Situations

Your personal situation may require additional coverage to protect your assets, such as higher liability limits or an umbrella policy. Also, you may have valuables that basic policies won’t protect, which we can cover separately for you. We’ll also explain how you can add coverage for certain losses that can be caused by natural disasters, such as flood and earthquakes, which are not always covered by a typical homeowner’s policy.
